The Coconino National Forest is one of the state’s largest and most diverse parks, with 1.856 million acres encompassing Flagstaff’s towering evergreens, Oak Creek’s winding streams and the famous red rock buttes of Sedona. The area is home to four major lakes accessible from the Lake Mary Road exit on I-17.
Temperate summer highs in the 70s to 80s (°F) around Flagstaff provide the perfect climate for hiking, biking, and fishing. Northern pike, catfish, rainbow trout, bass, walleye, and sunfish are among the varieties of freshwater fish you’ll find here.
