More than a Campground: Mormon Lake Lodge

More than a Campground: Mormon Lake Lodge

People have been coming to Mormon Lake Lodge for nearly a century and not even a fire that completely destroyed the original lodge in 1974 has deterred them. In fact, local ranchers throughout Arizona came together and rebuilt the Lodge in under two months after the devastating blaze.

So what is it about Mormon Lake Lodge that inspired ranchers to volunteer their time to restore it and keeps families coming back year after year? We have a few ideas!

RV Park and Campground Amenities

At Mormon Lake Lodge, our RV Park and Campground is more than full hook-up and tent sites, although we definitely have those. We also have a variety of sports to choose from, including basketball, volleyball, and horseshoe courts. Let the kids test their fishing skills at our stocked Children’s Trout Pond. See incredible American Buffalo at the Buffalo Habitat.

Steakhouse and Saloon

The Steakhouse has been serving up delicious Western-style fare to hungry folks since 1924. Dig into a mouthwatering open-pit mesquite grilled beef, chicken, or fish meal, served with hearty portions of home cooked side dishes. The Steakhouse is one of the few open-pit steakhouses in Arizona, and although we believe everything on the menu is worth a try, the USDA-choice mesquite grilled beef is a guest favorite. After a tasty meal, wander over to the Mormon Lake Lodge Saloon for great drinks and local music every Friday and Saturday all summer long.

Western Activities

The Mormon Lake Lodge was built during a time when logging and ranching were booming in Arizona. The influence of this is seen in our Western-style buildings, décor, and onsite activities. Explore miles of trails from atop a saddle with a guided horseback ride. If you stay with us for Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day, you will even get the chance to check out team-roping competitions, a Mormon Lake Lodge Tradition.

Although we have a 74-site RV Park and Campground, Mormon Lake Lodge is far more than a campground: it’s a nearly 100-year institution in Northern Arizona. It’s a place for friends and family to share a meal, drinks, and each other’s company. It’s where families make lifelong memories.
