Summer in Flagstaff offers mild temperatures and an abundance of recreational and cultural activities to choose from. At Mormon Lake Lodge, guests can go hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and more. explore But we understand that everyone enjoys a night on the town from time to time, especially in the summer when the long sunlight hours and amazing weather beckons. Here are three fun summer activities to do in Flagstaff in the summer:
Every Wednesday in June and July, you can find Flagstaff residents and visitors at the Concerts in the Park Summer Series run by Flagstaff Parks and Recreation. More than just live music, these summer concert series includes arts, crafts, and even face painting for kids and the young at heart. The concerts are lawn seating in the park, so feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs. During the 2017 season, performers include local musicians who play a variety of musical genres, from reggae to Celtic.
2. Farmer's Markets
During the summer months, Flagstaff is home to two weekly farmer’s markets. With over 85 participating vendors for this year, Flagstaff Farmer’s Market is about to start up for its 17th season. On Sundays, the farmer’s market is in the City Hall parking lot and the Wednesday market can be found at Pine Forest School.
These fun and informative walks are organized by the local Flagstaff Audubon Society and held at the Flagstaff Arboretum. If the early bird gets the worm, then birdwatchers need to be even earlier for best birdwatching times. Over 130 species of birds have been observed within the boundaries of The Arboretum at Flagstaff. Don’t forget to bring extra water, a camera and wear comfortable shoes.
